It is important to keep the pH meter well stored, since it takes measurements through a probe, and if not, its probe would degrade much faster than normal. That is why it is so important to use a maintenance solution.
After using the pH meter we must clean the probe with the maintenance solution and then moisten the sponge with the maintenance solution to hydrate the probe of the pH meter. If the probe is not used for a while, it should be refilled periodically to maintain the correct level.
The storage solution is a single-use liquid, so it should not be stored in the bottle again after use.
