Periodic maintenance of a water treatment system is essential when aiming to maintain a stable flow and efficient filtration.

The Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack allows you to renew the pre-filtration stages of the Mega Grow 1000 system from GrowMax Water, preventing the progressive accumulation of sediments, chlorine, and certain contaminants from reducing the performance of the equipment.

The sediment filter acts as the first barrier against particles present in the water, while the two block carbon filters work on chlorine and different organic compounds.

This combination also helps protect the reverse osmosis membranes installed later in the circuit.

For installations dedicated to irrigation water treatment, performing maintenance at the appropriate intervals allows for greater control over the quality of the water used.

The Mega Grow 1000 is designed to produce up to 40 liters per hour and approximately 1,000 liters per day under reference conditions, so keeping the pre-filtration elements in good condition is especially important when there is high water consumption.

Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack

The Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack is developed as a compatible replacement for the Mega Grow 1000 reverse osmosis system from GrowMax Water. The set includes three filtration cartridges: one 5-micron, 10-inch sediment filter unit and two 10-inch Green Carbon Block filter units.

The sediment filter retains solid particles present in the water before they reach the next stages of the equipment. The block carbon filters are mainly intended to reduce chlorine and different organic substances that may be found in the incoming supply. This combination acts as a pre-stage to the reverse osmosis membranes, helping to maintain the overall performance of the system.

In the Mega Grow 1000, the two carbon filters work together. The technical documentation from GrowMax Water establishes a joint indicative capacity of approximately 8,000 liters for these filters under certain input conditions. The actual duration may vary considerably depending on the volume used, chlorine concentration, presence of sediments, and general characteristics of the water.

For this reason, maintenance should not be set solely by a fixed date. In installations with high consumption, it may be necessary to change the cartridges earlier, while moderate consumption may extend the interval. As a general reference, the manufacturer also considers approximate maintenance periods of several months for the prefilters, always depending on the quality and quantity of water processed.

What is the Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack for?

The main function of the Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack is to renew the pre-filtration stages of the Mega Grow 1000 to continue properly performing irrigation water treatment. As the cartridges work, they accumulate the retained substances until they progressively reach their capacity limit.

The 5-micron sediment filter helps retain larger solid particles before the water continues through the system. The two Green Carbon Block filters reduce chlorine and help eliminate certain organic contaminants. This process also helps protect the osmosis membranes from substances that can reduce their lifespan or affect their operation.

It is important to differentiate the work done by these filters from that done by the membranes. The cartridges included in this pack are part of the pre-filtration; the reverse osmosis membranes are responsible for reducing most of the dissolved salts and, therefore, significantly lowering the EC of the water. Carbon filters should not be considered a system for reducing hardness or electrical conductivity on their own.

This differentiation is especially useful when selecting indoor growing accessories and indoor growing tools related to water control. A properly maintained installation allows you to start with more controlled water conditions before preparing the irrigation solution.

How is the Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack used?

To install the Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack, you must first stop the water supply to the equipment and release the existing pressure before opening the housings. The Mega Grow 1000 has filter holders ready to accommodate the corresponding cartridges and usually includes a wrench designed to facilitate opening the housings.

During maintenance, the used cartridges are removed and the new ones are placed in the correct position: 1 5-micron sediment filter and 2 Green Carbon Block filters. Before closing the housings, it is advisable to check that the seals are properly seated, clean, and without visible damage. After assembly, the water supply can be gradually opened, possible leaks checked, and the initial conditioning of the new filters carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The change should be made when the cartridges have reached the recommended working capacity or when usage conditions indicate that performance has decreased. As a technical reference, GrowMax Water establishes for the two carbon filters of the Mega Grow 1000 a joint capacity of approximately 8,000 liters under certain conditions. Factors such as chlorine level, amount of sediment, pressure, temperature, and daily consumption can significantly alter this figure.

Performing maintenance on time helps prevent performance losses and allows the next stages of the system to work under proper conditions. In any installation intended for irrigation water treatment, it is advisable to periodically check the condition of prefilters and membranes to maintain consistent results.

Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack Price

The price of the Mega Grow Growmax Filter Pack can be checked directly in the Hydroponics Blanes online store. Before placing the order, it is advisable to check the exact model of the installed equipment to select the appropriate replacement. This pack is specifically intended for the Mega Grow 1000 from GrowMax Water and includes the three necessary pre-filtration elements: one sediment cartridge and two block carbon cartridges.

The periodic replacement of the filters is an important part of equipment maintenance. Waiting until the cartridges are completely saturated can affect the flow rate, decrease the effectiveness of pre-filtration, and increase the workload of the osmosis membranes.
