Making the drainage hole: These trays come WITHOUT a hole, so we can make the hole to the size we need and manufacture the desired drainage system.
Excess water collection: Place the grey growing tray under your pots or containers where you have your plants. During watering, the tray will collect the excess water that drains from the pots.
Drainage to the hole: The tray has a hole at the bottom that acts as a drainage point. The water collected in the tray will drain into this hole.
Slope for drainage: For the drainage system to work properly, it is necessary to place the growing tray in an inclined position so that the water drains towards the hole by gravity.
Growing with coconut slabs: Trays with drainage holes are ideal for use with coconut slabs, which are popular substrates in hydroponic growing. These trays help keep overwatering under control, ensuring that plants receive the proper level of moisture.
Rockwool cultivation: These trays can also be used for growing plants that use rockwool as a substrate. The tray will collect and divert excess water, preventing waterlogging problems in the growing medium.
